Along with caring for the horses at Cloverdale I also compete in EFA dressage competitionsOur and ride 5 days a week. I grew up in a country town called Bairnsdale. Throughout my childhood I rode horses and attended pony club for many years. I then went away to boarding school and it wasn’t until I got married that I decided to get back into riding. I love dressage, so we purchased our farm in Pakenham south so I could have a place to keep and ride my horses.
Cloverdale as it is now know was an old dairy farm which we have converted into spelling paddocks and a hospital aftercare facility. I worked as a veterinary nurse for a local vet clinic in Pakenham then, and I studied Equine nursing and worked for Melbourne Equine based at Caulfield. Through my work there, we now get a lot of post-operative horses here to continue their recuperation. It is a fantastic occupation caring for many very well bred thoroughbred horses and then following their racing careers.

I’ve been a sports commentator for over 40 years. I’m currently with ABC radio Grandstand. In my career I’ve been lucky enough to cover six Olympic Games with the ABC and Channel 7. The major sports I cover today are AFL and cricket.
I’ve always had a passion for racing through mounting yard coverage of spring and autumn racing carnivals and was a former committee member for the Pakenham race club. I continue to have a close interest in thoroughbred horses. I love to watch the horses I have a share in as well as following the careers of horses which leave Cloverdale to go to the races.
